This upgrade replaces more than the panel, it typically means larger gauge service entrance conductors, a new 200-amp rated meter main, and often an upgraded weatherhead or underground service lateral depending on how your home is fed. We start with a load calculation to confirm 200 amps is the right target rather than overselling capacity you won't use, since some smaller homes are fine at 125 or 150 amps.
PG&E has to disconnect and reset the meter as part of the work, and depending on their scheduling that can add a few days to the project timeline in rural parts of Mendocino and Lake County. We coordinate that appointment for you so you're not stuck waiting on hold.
Once the new service is energized, every circuit gets tested and the panel directory is rewritten to match reality, not copied from the old one.
